CLAYTATION, fun with 4!

What is a Claytation? It sounds like a pottery retreat, a vacation with clay and so much more! It is the moment where you can finally take those pottery classes, you have been dreaming off and at the same time enjoy the beautiful beaches of Portugal.

During your stay we are going to do 5 clay workshops in my studio. The first day we start immediately with 2 workshops to learn the basics, the next days there will be 1 a day. We learn to wedge the clay, centring on the wheel, trimming your pieces, glazing.. Starting with the basics to make cups, bowls, little plates or whatever the clay decides for you 😉

My favourite vineyard in the neighbourhood is QUINTA DE SANT’ANA, an idyllic working farm, from a very warm family, in Gradil. They will offer us an authentic experience of “Portugal in a nutshell” including a short visit to the vineyards followed by a tasting in the impressive century-old cellars.

As I am a real FOOD LOVER, I love the many many amazing restaurants and cozy bars in Ericeira. Here you can enjoy the typical Portuguese dishes, full with garlic and olive oil.
The town is known for its delicious seafood and fish. I am a big fan of the clams, the typical ‘marisco’, ‘sapateira’, ‘polvo’,.. You’ll also find many non-Portuguese restaurants from pizza, tapas,.. to sushi and many spots for a quick bite. This combined with a perfect sea view makes your experience unforgettable.
If you like surprises, I’ll make the reservations for you so you don’t need to worry where to go out for dinner.

WHAT IS INCLUDED FOR THIS PRICE?

• 6 Days, 5 Nights with breakfast in a hotel in the centre of Ericeira
  
• 5 Ceramic workshops (wheel throwing, hand building, making jewellery)
  
• 1 Wine expert tasting at Quinta de Sant’Ana
• Guided tour Ericeira, showing you my favourite places and restaurants
• Guided walk on the cliffs ‘From beach bar to beach bar’
  
• Transport from and to the airport, to the workshops and the wine tasting
• Pottery pieces: you van choose your 5 favourite pieces at the end to glaze them and to get fired afterwards. I send them to your home address for an additional shipping cost.

5 Nights is to long, to short for you? Together we can schedule a period, a package of workshops, activities..
Price depends on the question

* All prices are based on low season prices. In July, August and September, prices can differ depending on the hotel room rates

** BOOKING POLICY:

• I’ll ask 50% deposit payment via bank transfer to secure your spot upon booking and the remaining 50% payment 6 weeks before the start of the Claytation.
• Cancellation more than 6 Weeks before the start of the Claytation: 50% compensation of the total amount.
• Cancellation less than 6 Weeks before the Claytation : no compensation
• Prices include VAT

  While you are in Ericeira, why not try a surfing lesson.
  Ericeira is one of the 10 places that can call itself “WORLD SURFING RESERVE”, so what better place to get a taste of surfing as well. Check it out on this link

  Lisbon is one of the most cosy and beautiful capitals in Europe. Take the opportunity to visit city full of history.
  We can help you planning your trip in Lisbon.

• Visit to Sintra
  Portugal is known for its ancient history and one of the most famous touristic location in the area. The Palácio Nacional De Pena is visible all around the area (even from the pottery studio)
  Sintra is such as mythical spot,that it has been chosen as Unesco World Heritage
  Transport back and forth to Sintra is not included in the original package. Price on request.
